What to Expect
Starting therapy can feel a little daunting, especially if it’s your first time.
To help put your mind at ease, here’s a guide to what you can expect when working with me:

Initial Consultation
This is our opportunity to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what you’d like support with and what you hope to achieve. I’ll also share some helpful insights into how the brain works particularly what happens when we’re feeling low, anxious or overwhelmed.
The initial consultation is complimentary, lasts between 30 and 60 minutes, and gives you a chance to see if working together feels right for you. Following this session, I’ll email you an MP3 relaxation recording to help support your wellbeing from the outset.

Ongoing Sessions
Each session begins with a positive reflection What’s been good? to help shift focus towards progress and resilience. We’ll revisit some brief brain-based psychoeducation to reinforce understanding and build confidence in the process.
The main part of the session involves solution-focused conversation, where we explore your preferred future and identify the small, manageable steps that will move you closer to it. This is followed by a gentle hypnotic relaxation, which supports the brain in making those positive changes by helping the conscious and subconscious minds work together more effectively.
While we don’t dwell on the past, we do acknowledge it and explore how you’d prefer to think or feel going forward in a healthier, more helpful way.
